My Ancestry: A Blend of Northern West Asia and Southern Europe

I come from a unique mix of cultural roots that connect me to Northern West Asia (50.2%), with a strong foundation in Iranian and Persian heritage, and Southern Europe (39.9%), particularly Spain and Portugal. These lineages have given me a deep appreciation for history, culture, and the values passed down through generations.

My Father’s Heritage: Persian and the Aryan people

My father’s ancestry is rooted in 100% Northern West Asian lineage, directly tied to Persia and the Aryan people. This pure connection to the Iranian Plateau reflects a long and continuous history of cultural pride, intellectual achievement, and resilience.

Mesopotamia is considered the “cradle of civilization,” where the first urban settlements, writing systems, and legal systems emerged, as seen in Sumer, Babylon, and Assyria.

Iran (ancient Persia) was the center of historic empires like the Achaemenid Empire, with figures such as Cyrus the Great and Darius, who influenced art, architecture, religion, and politics throughout the ancient world.

For millennia, Mesopotamia was a crossroads for trade, ideas, and empires. The genetic purity in this region may reflect specific communities that maintained endogamous traditions or avoided significant external mixing.

From my father’s side, I inherit:

1. A Link to Ancient Persia:

His ancestry ties back to a region known for its contributions to governance, science, literature, and art.

These achievements inspire me to value the importance of learning and contributing to the world in meaningful ways.

2. Traits Shaped by History:

A tendency to think strategically and adapt to challenges, drawn from a lineage that has preserved its identity through centuries.

An appreciation for fairness, justice, and hospitality, rooted in Persian cultural values and traditions.

3. A Spiritual Legacy:

The teachings of ancient Zoroastrianism and later Islamic influences remind me of the importance of balance, reflection, and the pursuit of wisdom.

Southern European Roots: Vibrance and Exploration

From my mother’s side, I gain the warmth and creativity of Spanish and Portuguese ancestry. This part of my heritage reflects:

1. A Spirit of Curiosity:

The Iberian Peninsula’s history of exploration and discovery teaches me the value of being open to new ideas and experiences.

2. Community and Creativity:

The traditions of storytelling, art, and music remind me of the importance of connection, expression, and celebrating life.

What My Heritage Means to Me

My ancestry isn’t just about percentages—it’s about the values, lessons, and identity passed down through generations.

From my father’s Persian heritage, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, wisdom, and a sense of justice.

From my mother’s Southern European roots, I’ve embraced creativity, adaptability, and the beauty of community.

I see my heritage as a gift—a reminder of where I come from and a foundation for how I navigate life. It connects me to the stories of those before me, shaping my outlook and inspiring me to grow, learn, and contribute in my own way.
