Talk to Your Airtable:

I built an Airtable MCP that lets you chat with your database

Have you ever been in the middle of a thought, needed a piece of information from your Airtable, and lost your train of thought while clicking through filters and views? I know I have—and that's exactly why I built Airtable MCP.

What is Airtable MCP?

Simply put, Airtable MCP lets you talk to your Airtable database using everyday language through AI assistants like Claude. No more switching between apps or learning complex query syntax.

It's like having a helpful colleague who knows your database inside and out:

You: "Hey Claude, show me all the overdue tasks in our project tracker."

Claude: "I found 6 overdue tasks. Three are assigned to Mark, two to Sarah, and one to you."

The Problem Airtable MCP Solves

We all use Airtable because it's powerful and flexible. But even with its user-friendly interface, getting information still requires:

  1. Switching to the Airtable app or browser tab
  2. Finding the right base and table
  3. Setting up filters or sorting
  4. Scanning for the information you need
  5. Switching back to your work

How It Works in Real Life

For the sales rep on a client call:

Instead of awkwardly pausing to look up customer history, just ask:

"What was the last order placed by Acme Corp and when was it delivered?"

For the content manager planning next month's calendar:

Rather than juggling spreadsheets and status updates:

"List all blog posts that are ready for review and their assigned editors."

For the project manager in a team meeting:

When someone asks about timeline risks:

"Which tasks are behind schedule and by how many days?"

For the inventory manager restocking supplies:

Instead of running reports:

"Which products are below the reorder threshold and need to be restocked?"

No Technical Expertise Required

The beauty of Airtable MCP is its simplicity. If you can ask a question, you can use it. No special syntax to learn, no API tokens to manage (beyond initial setup), no coding skills needed.

Getting Started in 2 Minutes

  4. Restart your AI assistant (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, or Zed)
  5. Start talking to your database!

Try It Today

The full documentation is available on GitHub and Smithery, but honestly, once it's set up, you'll barely need it. Just start asking questions.
